Big Ben: Landmark of London, City of 2012 Games

The clock-tower housing Big Ben is one of London's best known landmarks.

The name Big Ben actually refers not to the clock-tower itself, but to the 13-ton (13.7-kilogram) bell hung inside.

Big Ben is an excellent timekeeper, which can be said to reflect that famous British characteristic of punctuality.

I am very proud that Greece is the birthplace of the Olympic Games and I am delighted that London, a city she have visited and loved, will host the Olympics in 2012.

In honor of that great city and country, I have crafted a 64cm x 50cm hand-made embroidery (pictured here) of the Big Ben clock-tower which I will offer as a gift to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom.
